Super PAC more important than voters...

pstern

05:22 on 29 January 2012

A PAC is the acronym for Political Action Committee and the 2012 Presidential Election primaries are all about the new era of the Super PAC.

Mitt vs. Newt

from LA Times

It's Time the GOP Asks, 'Why can't we all get along?'

pstern

07:59 on 28 January 2012

No wonder why the GOP can't get along with the Democrats in Washington.  They can't even seem to be civil to one another.

The Problem With Our Political System and How to Change It

by Peter Stern

We are a nation of extremists and have lost the delicate checks and balances that made our nation truly great.

Does Political Office Attract Liars and Unethical Millionaires to It or Does the Job Create Them?

pstern

08:16 on 26 January 2012
Well, I think you all know the answer to that question.  Probably both.

Perry's Approval Rating Among Texans Significantly Diminishes... It's about time!

pstern

05:35 on 26 January 2012
Simply stated, Perry is an idiot! I apologize to the remnants of the Rick Perry fan club [and there are a few fools left, believe it or not], but the truth is the Truth.

After his ignorant and often comical debating performance at the national level, the not-at-all-ready-for-Primetime Governor has significantly soured in the minds of Texas voters.

Not only has the Governor's image plummeted, but so has the nation's view of Texas and Texans.

According to the results of a poll taken by the Austin American-Statesman and other Texas newspapers, Perry's approval rate of registered Texas voters is below the national approval rate of President Obama.

Great State-of-the-Union Address by Obama --- in an Election Year

pstern

11:02 on 25 January 2012

We all know that Obama is a great orator, one of the best. The speech he presented had some great moments; however, I recall many of the same issues and promises back 3 years ago when he was sworn in as our President.

The Rick Perry Reality Show

Trying to Point Fingers for the Campaign Loss

by Peter Stern

Some political writers e.g., like Jason Embry of the Austin American-Statesman, discuss that Perry failed in his bid for GOP Presidential candidate because of "internal turmoil" in his campaign management.  While there may be some truth in that belief, it is the man himself who caused the failure of his campaign.

Perry-appointed Workforce Commission Chairman Tom Pauken Still Trying to Con Texans

by Peter Stern
pstern

15:36 on 20 January 2012

The Texas Tribune printed a small brief on the Workforce statistics on lower unemployment, trying to portray the lie that the Texas economy is improving. Not only does Rick Perry lie through his teeth, but obviously so do his appointees in prime positions in state agencies.

Perry says 'Americans should become unhinged...' regarding the XL Pipeline decision...

pstern

15:15 on 18 January 2012

Just because Rick Perry is "unhinged" does NOT mean that Americans should be too!

Perry's Support is Disintegrating Quickly

pstern

09:16 on 18 January 2012
Perry's Fate is Sealed!

Rightly so, Perry's support base is diving faster than the stock market did last year.

Various religious groups, e.g., the Response, (remember?) that previously supported Perry last year with the Prayer vigil in Houston's Reliant Stadium that saw an audience of 30,000 religious supporters for Perry, no longer believes that Perry is the answer to that prayer.

If Americans are so damn unhappy with their Congress, then why aren’t they doing anything about it?
It’s easier to complain than to get out there and vote
by Peter Stern
Currently, it is documented that a mere 5 percent of Americans think Congress is doing a good job, which also means that almost 95 percent of them think Congress is doing a crummy job.   So, why let our legislative leaders get away with it?   Why aren’t more Americans getting to the polls and voting-out lackluster incumbents by voting-in “new blood” and replacing them?

Perry lies again to *Moms Matter* in Myrtle Beach, SC

                           pstern

11:07 on 16 January 2012

Rick Perry needs to get his mouth washed-out with soap for all the lies he tells. It seems as though he is trying to make the Guinness Book of Records for lies by a politician.

Rick Perry has the *cajones* to say he created more than 1 million jobs as Governor of Texas

Great to see President Obama Finally Whack Congress With His Appointments

pstern

10:31 on 8 January 2012

The GOP Congress is at home for the holidays whining into their collective beers.  Why?  President Obama finally whacked them all with a 2X4 by making his appointments during the congressional recess.  The GOP will be howling at the moon for a long time to come.

There really are no good GOP candidates

peter stern

14:15 on 6 January 2012

There really is no good choice for a GOP Presidential candidate to run against Obama. If there was one, I probably would vote for him or her. In fact, the GOP resembles the Year 2000 Democratic Party, which also had no real leaders. Currently, the GOP looks like a group of clowns.

Rick Perry's Poor Mutilated Brain Thinks He Can Win

               peter stern

08:19 on 5 January 2012

Rick Perry had taken one giant step towards Reality when he told the media that he was a-heading back to Texas to assess his campaign.
That brief moment disappeared when within hours the Governor of Texas told the public that he thinks he can win and that it wasn't hard to see and make that decision. Say it ain't so, Rick!

So, here we go again. The man never loses in Texas, so maybe he doesn't see a lost cause when he trips over one, because his national campaign is doomed --- a major catastrophe waiting to happen.

Who is Congressman Ron Paul...

The Real Ron Paul: Republican, Libertarian, Pragmatist or Racist?

by Peter Stern

There is a brief article [reprinted below] on Congressman Ron Paul that considers some of his platforms, actions and comments. Personally, I don’t think they are as “eye opening” as the author states, but I also have been following Ron Paul for the past 12 years, so I am aware of these documented points.
