another rainy day...

It seems endless this year, rain every day.  They closed some of the roads near us.  With the new rains, many more people will become homeless.  There are more missing and found dead every day now.  It’s getting scary and I’m wondering if I should start building an ark, or a boat or something.  it could get there.  Rain, winds, tornadoes...

Guess you’ll get these storms today or tomorrow.  We’ve had 6 years of drought and now more than one year of consistent rain.  The weather has become relentless, extreme and often ruthless for all of us, which ironically seems to parody current human existence.

If I were religious, I would believe in God.  If I were a coward, I would run... but where?

I guess I don’t have to be religious to pray that the world finds itself, before it’s too late.

Random acts of kindness... harder to find those these days.  Maybe we all should view the weather as a sign for positive change?  It couldn’t hurt.

the luxury to retrospect...

I have such a different view now of the Obama’s than I did in 2008.  I am so sorry I voted for him the first time, but I know I did so because of the poor alternatives.

The world we have created has evolved into a dangerous one on so many levels and I honestly don’t know what can be done about it.  My hope for for the inherent good of most humans will surface and may overthrow the devils who are in charge.  It is harder these days for me to be very optimistic, as I once was in my early youth.

I worry every day for our children and grandchildren.  I hope they find a niche they may be in and feel comfortable in.  It is getting harder to find that kind of niche.  I have been very lucky for the niche I have created for myself and the one the world has let me live in, up until now.  All that can change in a few seconds.

2016 Presidential Election: the more things change, the more they stay the same...

Illegals, 2016 Presidential Election

Obama and his cohorts have always bent over backwards for illegals while screwing American citizens.  Hillary Clinton has the same mentality and direction.  We, the People, have to keep her out of the White House.

Currently, the GOP has split itself into too many negative atoms.  Once again the GOP is allowing more than one dozen candidates to rise up and weaken the Party.  The GOP should have learned from its previous history in the last several elections when too many cooks (candidates) spoiled the broth (allowed the Democrats to stand united... and win); there was only Obama and Hillary at the top of their food chain.

It’s going to be another mess for the GOP unless the Party thinks out of the box and fully supports one candidate, sooner than later.

The Ongoing Saga of Financing Public Education in Texas

Public Education in Texas

Public Education is NOT a priority for Texas Legislators.  Historically and currently... that's a fact!
The Texas Legislature is bound by the Texas Constitution to provide a quality public education for Texas children.  Perhaps what is needed here is a definition of a "quality education" and how much is required to provide it.
More and more each year, the Texas Legislature has diverted its constitutional responsibility onto local governments to provide the financing.  The local governments in turn have oppressed homeowners to provide those dollars.
Roughly 80 percent of property taxes goes to finance public education.
That's just not right.
If the Legislature does NOT want Public Education then it needs to privatize education, but it must change the Texas Constitution to do that and the public needs to approve it in a public referendum.

Until that time, the State must adequately finance Public Education, which currently it is not doing.
