Citigroup to Pay Millions to Close Fraud Complaint

Citigroup is one of those financial groups that GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain says is NOT responsible for the financial chaos that crushed the savings of many Americans. Cain points his finger at the Federal Government, but in truth, there is enough blame to throw around at the Feds AND at the financial sector. Both had a hand in creating the worst U.S. economy quite possibly since the Great Depression, when the bottom fell out of Wall Street in 1929 and which led to many lean years and massive unemployment for Americans.

GOP 'Debate' in Las Vegas: the Mad Hatter's Tea Party

GOP 'Debate' in Las Vegas:  the Mad Hatter's Tea Party

by Peter Stern

First off, this was NOT a debate.  It was a 3-ring circus NOT hosted by Ringling Bros.

Texas Constitutional amendment election Nov. 8, 2011

Texas Constitutional amendment election Nov. 8, 2011

Texas voters will be asked to approve 10 proposed amendments to the state constitution.   Don't forget to bring your voter registration care AND a photo ID with you or else you will NOT be permitted to vote.  The new photo ID law was passed in the last legislative session.

Here's a brief overview of the proposals (some of this was taken from the sites of the Texas Secretary of State and the Austin American-Statesman)  When appropriate I give my opinion on a proposed amendment:

3-faced Rick Perry Blast Feds for Same Thing He Does

Perry is like Cerebus, the 3-headed Dog, who lashes out without any reason or clarity and no one should trust such a creature. And certainly, the American voters should push Perry far away as possible from being a candidate for the Presidency.

Terror in Uganda? Or Imperialist Conquest?

What is *The Lord's Resistance Army* and Why Send Troops Into Uganda?

Are President Obama and Congress correct to send a small group of U.S. Special Forces into Uganda and perhaps parts of the Sudan where an army of approximately 350 soldiers perpetrate often inhumane treatment onto individuals, families and children that include rapes, beatings, torture and other violent actions? The army calls itself, "The Lord's Resistance Army" and it is a well-developed band of trained mercenaries. However, what do we really know about the group?

Perry starts the ball rolling on 'his' Jobs via Energy Plan...

Well, it took a while, but Rick Perry is a man with an economic job plan.

Perry's plan appears very similar to his, or rather George W. Bush's, Trans-Texas Corridor plan, only using pipelines to move oil and gas around the nation and throughout the world.

Texas tall tales by 'King' Perry aren't ready for national prime time...

I have written dozens of articles during the past 8 years on Texas Governor Rick Perry's lies and that he is little more than a flim-flam man telling Texans what he wants them to believe.

The Dartmouth University GOP Debate --- who won it?

My first impulse is...

Was THAT a debate or a coffee klatch?

Bank of America cries poverty and charges $5 per month for customers to use their debit cards while the company pays millions of dollars to former executives...

Whew!   That was a mouthful for a title, but it's the truth!!!

Bank of America needs to trim its own mega fat and uncontrolled atmospheric costs before it charges customers more and more to do their daily business.

Dismal U.S. Economy Continues: I guess some jobs are better than none?

We're told that there were 103,000 new jobs created in the U.S. this past September.  Big deal, are we supposed to be dancing in the streets?

Public Education in Texas is Being Corrupted on Purpose

Public Education in Texas is Being Corrupted on Purpose

Officials really don’t care about the future of our children

by Peter Stern

To Governor Rick Perry, Members of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives and the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE):

Okay, we Texans get the message. Most of you do NOT want Texas Public Education to succeed. It is obvious by your actions that educating our children is the last thing on your minds. Most of you are contemptible!

Rick Perry in NH Trying to Undo His Own Idiocy

After poor debating appearances, Perry tries to convince the nation to support his creative education plan: providing tax dollars to educate the children of illegal immigrants.
