Alternative Energy Future Looks Grim

Alternative energy companies and their shareholders are hurting, even though our government has verbalized a desire to move on our alternative options more aggressively.

More Texas Toll Roads?

pstern

09:29 on 23 February 2012
Please contact Senator John Cornyn and your Texas Senators and House Reps. to contest additional toll roads throughout Texas.

Feel free to use the brief letter I sent:
To Whom It May Concern:
As you may know, Sen. John Cornyn addressed the Texas Transportation Forum last Friday and lobbied for the sale of our sovereign Texas public roads to private corporations in PPPs (that result in toll rates as high as 75 cents PER MILE, the equivalent of adding $15 to every gallon of gas we buy!).
Texans cannot afford additional toll taxes as a part of their daily living expenses. We do not need nor want more toll roads, especially on our free roads already paid for with our tax dollars.
Please apply your efforts and find alternative means to finance the building and maintenance of our roadways. It would be better to ensure that all our fuel taxes go towards the purpose they were intended --- to pay for building and maintaining Texas roads.
Thank you.

U.S. has a BIG Problem...

It is an American story of global greed, power & control for our leadership, which is a combination of extreme wealthy financiers, corporate sector, Wall Street and our military machine. I believe that is why we cannot ever change things for the better. Our middle class has almost disappeared.

What we have as a government no longer is a Representative Democratic Republic, but an Extremist Wealth-Oriented Oligarchy (EWOO) that is not concerned about the well-being of the American people. We are just expendable numbers to them, or collateral damage that won't be missed.

Governor Rick Perry is Completely Out of Touch with the Needs of Texans

pstern

10:08 on 22 February 2012
After years of cuts to public education Governor Rick Perry has the ultimate gall to say that the state of Texas pays enough to educate our children.  In reality, Texas is at the bottom end of the 50 states in paying for and providing a quality public education for Texas children.

Rick Perry is being paid $240,000 annually for being an Absentee Texas Governor

pstern

20:52 on 19 February 2012

Why do Texans and the Texas State Legislature permit Governor Perry to do this?

In any other job, Perry would be fired from his position. He has bought many key people here in Texas with appointments and job offers. No one holds Perry accountable. Perry does whatever he wants to and no one stops him. Even the Office of the Attorney General protects Perry.

More Republicans, Democrats AND Independents Should Vote in the GOP Primary

pstern

10:18 on 19 February 2012
In one of the most negative GOP Primary campaigns in recent history, it is important that more American voters take part in voting.  On this blog I have written that there are no good Republican candidates, so voters will be hard-pressed to find a quality candidate to vote for.

For now, Romney, Santorum, Paul and Gingrich are not prime or quality candidates and any of them will ensure that President Obama will be reelected.

I also stated that it would not be a big surprise at all for the GOP to support a totally different candidate in the next month or two, someone who will rally more support than any of the current selection.

Of the 4 GOP candidates now remaining, the better choice remains Congressman Ron Paul, the self-professed Libertarian who continues to be the most knowledgeable and pragmatic of the candidates when it comes to domestic action and policy; however, Paul has some major issues that prevent him from being a true viable choice for Americans.  For example, his TOTAL isolationist policy no longer works in today's "smaller" world.  We once tried to isolate ourselves from other nations and it enabled the Nazi regime to invade much of the globe.  If we did not enter WW II when we did, Americans today could be speaking German as the official language.

Still, of the 4 candidates Ron Paul seems to be the best choice in one of the weakest GOP primaries in recent years.
Who would YOU vote for in the GOP Primary?  Romney, Santorum, Paul or Gingrich?  Or, would you choose some other candidate e.g., Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey or former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.

Who would you choose?

Rick Perry's latest scam: creating a Super PAC

pstern

12:42 on 17 February 2012
Texas Gov. Perry has $270,000 left over from the $20 Million he collected from campaigning for President.  While it's sitting in a bank account, Perry already has considered his options on what to do with that money.  He now wants to start a Super PAC.  He is asking federal officials whether he can use the money to created a Super Political Action Committee.  Real slick move, "tricky" Ricky.

BREAKING NEWS: Congress Declares Pizza a Vegetable!!!

pstern

14:11 on 15 February 2012
In its infinite wisdom and special interest focus, the U.S. Congress was persuaded by Industrial Food companies to declare frozen pizza is a vegetable so it may be served to American school children.  It enables the industry to reap large profits at the expense or our children's health.  One in five children are now designated obese.

New Survey and Poll Show Rick Santorum Now Leading GOP Pack

pstern

16:26 on 14 February 2012
A national survey by the Pew Research Center and a new Gallup poll show that Rick Santorum has taken a narrow lead over Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich, respectively.  But don't believe the GOP and pro-Republican media hype.

The GOP primary will culminate into another Presidential Election disaster for the dysfunctional Party of Dwight D. Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan.

Transportation Contracts Under a Corrupt System

pstern

21:06 on 12 February 2012
The process of rewarding transportation contracts is a corrupt process. There are no true bids. Foreign companies pay to get contracts. There is nothing fair about the process. I wouldn’t mind foreign companies getting contracts fairly and only if they use a majority of American workers.

It's Time to Join Forces Again to Stop Toll Roads Throughout Texas and the U.S.

I have stated that We, the People will forever have to fight against toll road special interests and against individual state contracts with foreign toll road building companies.

Here we go again...

This has been an ongoing battle and it needs to stop.  Tell your Federal and State Senators and House Reps. that you don't want endless toll roads.

Tell them to please support the Hutchison  ban on tolling existing STATE and FEDERAL freeways and to STRIP PPPs & TIFIA  loans OUT of the transportation bill .

It is time to do what is best for the community good and NOT only for the special interest good.  Greed and corruption continue to dominate in Congress.  It is time to stop permitting it to happen.

Say "No!!" to toll roads and road partnerships with foreign companies.  Tell your representatives to say "No!!"

Why can't we ever learn from our previous mistakes?  Why can't we get smart?

More on the Texas Sonogram Law and Government Interference in Our Daily Lives

I received an email from a local editor who responded to the new Texas sonogram law. He stated, the law is "good news for the unborn, my friend." I asked him who would pay for and take care of the unborn that women did not want to take care of themselves after they were born?

Would the state cover the costs with his taxes? What about the unborn who developed because of a rape? Should women be forced to have the child?

And finally, if the editor is a Republican, doesn't he believe in less government interference into our daily lives? Certainly, the sonogram law provides more government control over our lives and reduces / eliminates the rights of the individual.

SONOGRAM LAW: Texas Women Controlled by Anti-Abortionists

pstern

16:41 on 6 February 2012
The Texas Legislature has determined that women have no rights when it comes to dealing with their own bodies and beliefs.  The irrational and illegal sonogram bill has been upheld by the court system.  In other words, the legal system has acted illegally against Texas women and everybody knows it.

Texans Are Still Stuck with Rick Perry...

pstern

07:45 on 1 February 2012
Even though Rick Perry blew more than $17 million from Make Us Great Again, his Super PAC, on a doomed Presidential campaign, he still has $2.5 million in his state campaign coffer. Furthermore, Perry remains the most powerful official in the state of Texas.
