JUST A QUICK QUESTION: Why Exactly Are Texas Taxpayers Footing the Tab for the Security Detail of GOP Presidential Candidate Rick Perry?

Aren't Texans already paying too much for one of the most lackluster governors ever in the state of Texas?

Texans are being forced to pay $10,000 per month for Perry's lakefront home rental because several years ago there was a mysterious fire at the Governor's Mansion.  Let him live in an apartment like most Texans do.
Perry thinks D.C. lawmakers are being paid too much, so why doesn't he live in a cheaper doublewide and save the taxpayers some money?

...And then Perry just "retired" as Governor so that he could start to collect his retirement pension which raises his salary from $125 K to $240 K!!!  Whaaa???

Talk about wasting taxpayer dollars.  Take, take, take!!!  That's what Perry does best.

So, getting back to the title of this thread, why should Texans pay for Rick Perry's security when he is campaigning for President?  Shouldn't he pay for the security with the campaign contributions he gets?

It is mind-boggling that Rick Perry gets reelected time after time as Governor of Texas.  While he will never become President so Americans are safe, Texans just can't seem to get rid of the man who does whatever his special interests pay him to do and who does little to improve the overall Texas community.

First and foremost, Rick Perry is an enemy of the people and should be tried for his multiple fraudulent and questionable actions and transgressions as Governor of Texas.
