Why doesn't Texas improve its economy and create its own jobs?

pstern 08:46 on 29 March 2012 In general, people look to the Federal Government for help when their state does not provide it.   So if Governor Rick Perry, State Legislators and Texas businesses don't want the Federal Government to control our direction as they repeatedly tell us, then why don't they create the jobs Texans need?

I would suggest government because most of the time they don't serve jail terms.
